Cloud CollabEdit
A team editor, beyond the local machine.
CloudCollabEdit was a team submission to IBM-SmartInternz Hack Challenge 2023. The public project brings together a React client and a Node.js server for a shared document-editing experience. My contribution included containerizing and deploying the application with Docker and OpenShift. It was an opportunity to connect application development with the practical work of getting a team's project running in a shared environment.

A problem
worth exploring.
A shared document editor needs more than an editing surface: the client and server also need to be packaged and run together outside a developer's local setup.
A documented team hackathon submission that paired a document-editing application with container deployment, giving me hands-on experience taking a project from local development to a shared environment.
How I approached it
- Organize the project around a React editing client and a separate Node.js service.
- Package the application with Docker so deployment uses a defined runtime rather than a developer's machine.
- Contribute to deploying the containerized project on OpenShift as part of the team's hackathon submission.
What I took away
- Deployment makes the boundary between application code and runtime configuration concrete.
- Team projects benefit from a shared understanding of how the parts connect, not just how each part runs locally.
